After Earth

General Cypher (Will Smith) has come home after a long tour of duty fighting aliens, now trying to mend his relationship with his family, but being a father is not easy especially when he's been estranged from his son Kitai (Jaden Smith) for most of his life. Cypher decides to do one last tour but this time he wants Kitai to accompany him, but on the flight their ship got caught in an asteroid storm, damaging the ship and forcing the ship to land on humanity free Earth. Now Kitai will have to face his fear, if he wants to save his father's life.

The special effects was awesome, the storyline dragged a little but it really teaches you the power of facing your fears and conquering it. Once again M. Night Shyamalan has brought out his disturbing creation from his mind.

I give this movie 3 Stars.

The Kings of Summer

This lovely coming of age film about three friends who are so unhappy at home that they decide to run-away and create their own house in the woods. Joe (Nick Robinson), his best friend Patrick (Gabriel Basso) and friend Biaggio (Moises Arias) builds a house and lives off the land, but living independently isn't all it cracked-up to be.

This independent film is creative, smart and heartwarming. I enjoy all the characters, and the message was clear, looking for your independence and finding that what you are trying to run from will always be part of you. THIS IS A MUST SEE FILM.

I give this movie 4 1/2 Stars.

The Hangover 3

After Allen's (Zach Galifianakis) dad dies, the wolfpack comes together to help Allen with an intervention and convince him to go for medical treatment. On the way to the hospital the wolfpack is assaulted and Doug (Justin Bartha) gets kidnapped. Now they need to find Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) and deliver him to a gangster, in order to save Doug.

This is the last installment of The Hangover franchise and nothing was off limits. The craziness of sex, drugs and this time wild cocks is on full display. Not better than the first but more entertaining the the second movie, the third is definitely the charm, you will enjoy it all the way to the end.

I give this movie 4 Stars.

Unwilling to bond with Trent, Duncan befriends the manager of a local water park who helps him find his inner strength.

This independent film is heartwarming, funny and inspirational, I was touch beyond belief with the strength and courage the main character Liam James portrayed. This little film is a MUST SEE..

I give this movie 5 Stars.

Fast and Furious 6

Agent Hobb (Dwayne Johnson) is in need of help again, so he turns to the one man that can bring justice, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his team. It's not going to be easy capturing one of the most dangerous formal special ops soldier Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) who's gone rogue. Now that Don knows that someone he love is involve, he will do anything to put his family together again no matter what's in his way.

Well here we go again, another fast and furious so I thought, never imagining that I was going to be so into the storyline, the car chase was more intense and  amazing than the last version. Ladies this not only for the men you will enjoy it too.

I give this movie 4 1/2 Stars.

Now You See Me

After a group of illusionist team up to become the world famous 4 horsemens, they pull-off an unreal illusion by performing a heist live from Las Vegas to Paris in 5 mins and rewarding the audience with millions of dollars they just stoled. How did they do it, ask the FBI and interpol who are investigationing the case. And now, the chase is on.

Now you see me is an action packed film with incredible illusions, twists and turns that you really don't see coming. A wonderful cast and a real underdog storyline makes this movie worth the admission. After seeing this film I want to see it  again and again, loved it.

I   give this movie 5 Stars.

The Great Gatsby

The Classic novel from F. Scott Fitzgerald was transformed into this adaptation about the mysterious Jay Gatsby (Leo DiCaprio) who's secrets and obsession has taken over him, while befriending his neighbor Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) a man who is  lured to Gatsby's world. But everything that glitters isn't gold and that's a lesson that Nick will learn.

This version of The Great Gatsby is absolutely fantastic from the storyline, to the costumes and the music. The shock is that Jay-Z is credited as an executive producer, surprising that a novel that most of us read in high school was capture so profundity, this is "A MUST SEE FILM".

I give this movie 5 Stars.

This is the end

This is the end is a complete all star cast and they portrayed themselves, after attending a party at James Franco's house, the world as we know it has become the front stage for an apocalypse and now Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Jonah Hill and Danny McBride need to figure out how to survive.

Wow, this went beyond what I expected. When I see the usual suspects like Seth, Jay, Jonah and James I think their usual boys club of idiocracy and funny punchlines, but what I experienced watching this movie took me by surprise and I love this surprise. The storyline was smart and clever, the special effects was excellent the surprise at the end will make you very happy. Don't walk to see this movie, run to the theater.

The Iceman

The iceman is based on a true story of the most notorious hitman, Richard Kiklinski who was arrested back in 1986 for the murder of over 100 people between the 60's through the 80's. The story is about Kiklinski's relationship with his family and his professional hitman job and how he tries to never cross the two.

This film is outstanding, the storyline is superb, the depth that this movie take you it leave you complexed because even though Richard Kiklinski was a ice cold killer he had a deep profound love for his family, and it's a side of the coin that you may sympathize with. Micheal Shannon embodied the charactor of the iceman as if he was born to play the role. I love this dark horse of a movie, and I hope that an oscar will be in the picture.

I give this movie 5 Stars.

Iron Man 3

Once again America is under terrorist attack from the most notorious mad man Mandarin ( Sir Ben Kingsley) who will stop at nothing to destroy everything Iron man holds dear. Now it's personal for Tony and he will stop at nothing to take down Mandarin, but everything he knows is not what it seems. Stark was left to survive on his own with his instincts to protect him.

Well Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is back in this seat grabbing, roller coaster ride of a movie. With unbelievable special effects and a great storyline you will enjoy every aspect of this film.

I give this movie 4 1/2 Stars.

The To Do List

The to do list is one of the funnest adolescent movie I've seen, with a very smart cast and a unique twist on a girl trying to lose her virginity. Brandy Clark (Aubrey Plaza) has just graduated from high school and has never had a sexual experience but she's make her list to change all that. Will she be able to accomplish her goal before she goes to college in the fall?

This is one of the funnest and most nostalgic 90's movie made in a long time, you will laugh from the moment the movie start to the end,
and I can forget to mention the excellent soundtrack, this is A MUST SEE FILM..

I give this movie 5 Stars.

Oblivion

Jack (Tom Cruise) is a drone repairman on what remains of Earth, after the invasion war with the aliens and the destruction of our moon, the planet resource is beyond depleted and Jack and his assistant Victoria (Andrea Riseborough) are assigned to secure the mission, but an unexpected surprise occurs when a spaceship crashes and what he discovers has Jack questioning everything he knows.

Oblivion is another of Tom Cruise continuous format of aliens, and the end of the world scenario, where he is the only one that can save it. This version of his format is a little bit confusing and the story line become a bit absurd but the graphics are incredible, and the acting was believable so overall you won't be disappointed because you get what you expect from Tom Cruise's movie.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

In comes Dr. Elizabeth Lamb (Rosario Dawson) who will try to help Simon regain his memory. However, somethings are best kept unleashed.

This movie has some parts that are hard to follow and is at time confusing but the ride gets solve and all the piece comes together at the end perfectly.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

42

42 is the story of the first negro baseball player Jackie Robinson who was signed to the all white national baseball team the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jackie was a pioneer in the sport and it is because of him that we have the diversity in all sports today. 42 is touching, funny, and  a completely heartwarming tribute to the man, so don't just walk to see this movie but run to see it. This movie is worth the admission, and I see an Oscar for this movie
.

I give this move 5 Stars.

Evil Dead

To start, this is not the same as the original Evil Dead that as a child scared me half to death, I couldn't go to sleep by myself for days, but this version is also scary and twisted. The graphs is on point and the story line stays somewhat the same with a few deviation. I enjoy this movie, but a little info stay to the end there is a surprise after the credits.

I give this movie 3 Stars

Olympus Has Fallen

Olympus has fallen is a action thriller movie with lots of explosion, and a plot that is very hard to conceive. A group of terrorists from north Korea has the guts to invade Washington D.C and take over the white house, with the end result of kidnapping the president and causing total devastation to USA.What happens in this film is really so overwhelming that it was hard to see our white house in that condition, but there's a silver lining in agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) who will stop at nothing to save the president. Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman are a great dual and this movie will thrill you to the very end.

I give this movie 4 Stars.

Stoker

Stoker is a dark thriller with a weird twist and turns plot, this is an unsettling story of secrets and suppressed emotion. This movie drags on and on, it's very dull in some scene that leave you confused and unable to follow along with the story line. India (Mia Wasikoswka) is more like Wednesday from the Addams family with no emotions and anti social, uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode) is strange and bizarre and you don't know what his angle is and who he wants. And Evelyn (Nicole Kidman) is the unstable mom who is looking for something and she doesn't know what. I don't know why it was hard to follow maybe if you have a few shots of vodka maybe you would understand it, so watching this sober did not help.

I give this movie 2 Stars

Jack The Giant Slayer

A new twist on a childhood classic, Jack the giant slayer will capture your attention and won't let go. The giant will fascinate you, while Jack (Nicholas Hoult) will capture your heart. The special effect are great
quality and you do believe we are being invaded by giant mutants, overall this movie will have you rooting for Jack til the very end..

I give this movie 4 Stars.

Dark Skies

Dark Skies is a sci-fi thriller with suspense and terror, the story-line is about the Barret family who's life is turned upside down by unexpected and unbelievable chain of events that each member are experiencing. Lacy Barret (Keri Russell) is seeing things happening in their home, unable to rationalize the weird event Lacy and her husband Daniel (Josh Hamilton) have to protect their sons from forces beyond this world. With the effects and the family dynamics you will believe this family's crazy ordeal. This is a griping and terrifying movie you will enjoy..

I give this movie 4 1/2 Stars.

Bullet To The Head

Well what can I say about BULLET TO THE HEAD, It was good not great but what can you expect from Sly Stallone. He did surprised me with his comedic attributes, I never expected his comedic timing to be on point. But Jason Momoa absolutely stole the show, he completely embraced the character as the hitman, not only was he great in the role, but his gorgeous looks will make the women swoon. The story-line was off with certain characters that was not believable like Sung Kang that keep giving info to the wrong people. But all and all you will be entertained if you don't expect to much.

I give this movie 3 Stars.
