What's Your Number?

After Ally Darling (Anna Faris) gets fired from her job, she read a article in a magazine on her way home that leads her to think she's going to be alone for the rest of her life, due to the amount of men she slept with. Not wanting to be alone forever and not wanting to increase her number, she hires her next-door-neighbor Colin (Chris Evans) to help her search for her past "ex's". Meanwhile, she has her baby sister Daisy (Ari Graynor) wedding to deal with.

What's your number is a romantic comedy with a fresh new outlook on how women deals with the number of men they have slept with, and how they lie about their number to others. It's funny and surprisingly sweet.

Real Steel

Real steel is the story about Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) a has-been boxer who is now a struggling promoter for the new boxing robots. A future-set robotic boxers who are now the new fighters instead of people. Charlie try's with his low-end robot to break it big, and at that same time he finds out that his ex died and now he's responsible for his estrange 11 year old son Max (Dakota Goyo). As Charlie and Max get closer their robot Atom start rising to the top for the biggest fight ever, and Charlie discover that his son only wants to be with him.

Real Steel is directed by Shawn Levy of (Date Night) is a future set where robot take over the boxing industry. I was a bit cynical at first, but this movie is exciting, fast-pace, and endearing. The robot boxing is addicting and you want to root for the robot Atom to win. This awesome movie has great action scenes. Don't miss it, like Rocky you'll fall in love with the characters.

I Dont Know How She Does It

Kate Redd (Sarah Jessica Parker) is a hard working financial analyst who works in a Management firm base in Boston. Kate, who is also a wife and mother of two young children, trying to balance her career that has now taken off big time, her boss Mr. Cooper (Kelsey Grammer) has given her a major account that would have her flying frequently to New York City and working closely with Jack Abelhammer (Pierce Brosnan) a handsome, charming man, and to make matters worse her husband Richard (Greg Kinnear) got the job he's been hoping for. Now how will Kate juggle her fast raising career, her young children who needs her around, and her husband who misses her. She's spreading herself thin and now Jack Abelhammer is proving himself to be a interesting distraction.

I Don't Know She Does It is directed by Douglas McGrath of (Infamous) about the balancing act that today's women faces trying to take care of their career, family and themself. This is a wonderful insight to a stress-out working mom, who is trying to be everything to everyone and realizes that when you prove yourself worthy in your field, you need to stop running the rat-race and enjoy what you have. Great movie for single mom, married mom and everything in between.

Moneyball

The General Manager of the Oakland A's Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) has a dilemma, he just lost three main players to free agent deals to other teams, now he has to replace them, and but together a baseball club on a shoestring budget making it harder. Until his visit to Cleveland Indian club were he meets Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) a Ivy league grad who uses his computer analysis system program to draft Billy's new players, base on scores, runs and win of the games. This new technology challenges everything that all recruiting scout hold as traditional.

Moneyball is base on a true story, directed by Bennett Miller who has really capture the struggle to make a underdog team like the Oakland A's achieve the impossible achievement of 20 straight games won by a team on a very low budget. Bratt Pitt and Jonah Hill are excellent in these role. I do see Oscar performance in this film.

I give this movie 4 stars.

Creature

A group of friends head out on a road trip to Louisiana, when they decided to stop at a roadside gas station. The owner Chopper (Sid Haig) told the guys the story of the local legend, "Lock-jaw" a creature who is half man and half alligator, while the girls went to the bathroom. Intriguing some of the guys, they head to the home of the creature called Grimley (Daniel Bernhardt) getting dark they set-up camp nearby the creature's home. Now the creature is after them and they need to escape before it's to late.

Creature is a new version of a B-movie, with cheesy effects and embarrassing stereotype swamp creature, this movie would have been best suited for straight to DVD viewing.

I give this movie 1 1/2 Stars.

Colombiana is a action-thriller movie directed by Oliver Megaton, this film is fill with titillating performance that is trully a guilty pleasure, wrap-up in this action-packed film. Colombiana is full of action, adventure, and suspense. The acrobatic performances and heart pounding action will have you at the edge of your seat, just watching Cataleya. Footloose

Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) came to live with his aunt and uncle after the passing of his mother. Ren, born and raise in Boston is transfer to this small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a surprising dose of culture shock. The town's people have endure a major tragedy a few years ago, after five teens including Rev. Moore (Dennis Quaid) son died a violent accident, after a night out with friends. So the local councilmen and Rev. Moore implemented an ordinance prohibiting loud music and dancing of any kind. Ren challenge the ban and with the help of Willard (Miles Teller) his bestfriend and Ariel (Julianne Hough) Rev. Moore's daughter, they will have to fight to dance.

Footloose is directed by Craig Brewer of (Hustle & Flow) and to tell you the truth, I attended the screening being a little cynical that this remake would not be as good as the original from 1984. I always said, "If it's not broken, don't fix it." Well everyone I was WRONG, and I'm not afraid to say it. This remake of Footloose was Fantastic, giving tribute to the original movie, but making it modern for today's youth. I own the classic version, and now 27 years later a great version is out and now I know that my daughter will appreciate this version just as much as I love the 1984 version as well. "A MUST SEE MOVIE, DON'T MISS IT'.

The Change-Up is directed by David Dobkin from (Wedding Crashers) this laugh out loud comedy is a male version of freaky friday but for grown-up's, it's raunchy, entertaining, funny, and smart with a touch of irony. This movie will surprise you, so sit back, relax and laugh, so enjoy the show.

Amy Winehouse Dead At 27!!

The soul-jazz/pop singer Amy Winehouse was found dead at her apartment in London, England on Saturday July 23, 2011, she was only 27 years old. There's no secret that Amy Winehouse had a long battle with alcohol, drugs and a eating disorder, even her close friend Kelly Osbourne try helping her by taking her to rehab, but rehabilitation didn't work. Our biggest fears became reality today when our jazzy beehive diva died. With her sultry smooth voice and her iconic retro look that was all one of a kind, Amy. I can truly say "There will only be one Amy Winehouse", and even though she left us early we will never forget the indelible mark you made in the music industry.

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Cal has been spending his time at a local bar, getting help from a professional pick-up artist Jacob (Ryan Gosling) who takes pity on him and takes him under his wing to help him be a ladies man, with a lot of help..

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a romantic comedy with an amazing cast, crazy scenario and touching moments of pure love. Hysterical to the core, Carell and Gosling are the perfect odd couple. This movie by far is the best comedy film of the year. This I guarantee, you will enjoy it.

I give this movie 5 Stars.

30 Minutes Or Less

The bumbling but volatile duo give Nick several hours to complete the task, so Nick recruits the help of his ex-bestfriend Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks the two must deal with the police, an hired assassin and his girlfriend, and the two criminal wanna-be's.

30 Minutes Or Less is a action-comedy directed by Ruben Fleisher of "Zombieland". This enjoyable comedy with strong performance from a fantastic cast, was down right funny from begging to end. Who knew having a bomb strap to your chest was so funny. This is an explosion of laughter.

I give this movie 4 stars

Freinds With Benefits

Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) after having a brutal broke-up have decide to be down-with-love. So Dylan decided to accept an offer and relocate from L.A. to N.Y.C there Jamie signed him to a one year contract as the editor of a New York Magazine. Being friends with Jaime they think it's going to be easy to add sex to their friendship, while trying to avoid the cliche of Hollywood romantic comedies. Soon they discover that getting physical always does lead to complication.

Friends With Benefits is directed by Will Gluck who has far made a new format for romantic comedy. This laugh out loud movie about sex without strings (THEORY IS BULL CRAP ), but it's made it in a way that everyone will understand, laugh at it and enjoy it.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

Devil Double

Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper) have been summoned from the desert to Saddam Hussein's palace, without a clue why. Latif has been order by Uday Hussein (Dominic Cooper) himself " The Black Prince" to be his body double. The notorious, sadistic, party-boy, who is known for his vicious sexual and brutal appetite. Uday not taking no for an answer, made sure that Latif families live are at stake, Latif must surrender his life and his self forever, he must learn and become Uday for the world to believe. Unfortunately, nothing could have prepare him for how psychotic The Black Prince really is.

Devil Double is very hard to see due to the graphics nature, but based on the true life story of Uday Hussein with added documentaries in the film make it, a little close for comfort that such a monster did exist. Dominic Cooper did a great job portraying the dual role, watch with caution this film will move you.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

A Better Life

Carlos (Demian Bichiar) is a gardener who lives's in East L.A, but struggles to keep his son Luis (Jose Julian) away from the gangs that has ravaged his neighborhood. Carlos tries to give his son the life he never had while trying not to get deported.

A Better Life is a story depicting the life of an immigrant who has worked all his life with many regrets except for what he would do for his son. A touching, loving caring movie, of a father and son dynamic, and the length a father will go through to try to give his son a better life. There's some stereotypical portrayal of the Latin community, but despite this aspect this movie was amazing.

I give this movie 4 Stars

Bad Teacher

All Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) wanted is to marry her rich fiance, but after he dumped her, she had no other choice but to return and work in her mundane job as a teacher. Until she met the new handsome substitute teacher Scott (Justin Timberlake) and after finding out that he is rich, she fight for his affection with her colleague, Amy (Lucy Punch) who also is interested in Scott. Elizabeth also finds herself dealing with the advances of the gym teacher Russell (Jason Segel) who is very much interested in her and will not stop pursuing her. Will Elizabeth win the man of her pocketbook dreams, or will her wild and outrageous schemes have her running for cover?

Bad Teacher is not your typical romantic comedy, but it has the romantic comedy formula, sexy lady, handsome rich guy, sweet lovable guy and then the clincher "which one will she choose"? Bad Teacher has some cliche, but a lot more in it's originality, very funny scenes and amusing sexual theme,(one that will have you talking at the water cooler for sure), but overall Bad Teacher wasn't Bad at all.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

The Art Of Getting By

George (Freddie Highmore) is a lonely and slightly neurotic teen with constant thoughts of death on his mind to make any real effect in school, but somehow George has manage to make it to senior year without ever having done any real work. One day George is befriended by Sally (Emma Roberts) a beautiful and complicated girl, she sees the true artistic gentle soul of George and believe in him when he doesn't believe in himself.

The Art of Getting By is a sweet indie romance movie of two kids finding the strength from within and growing-up, knowing that life is messy but that doesn't stop you from living it. This coming of age movie is touching and a little neurotic, but that's life and you can't help but like the characters.

I give this movie 3 Stars.

The Help

Skeeter (Emma Stone) returns home to Jackson Mississippi, after graduating from college determined to become a writer. Life in a small town in 1963 is hard for a career woman, so she got a great idea for a book to write an expose on the life of the help. Skeeter decided to interview her best friend, a black maid and write the story from the help point of view, as they take care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Viola Davis) was the first of the help to open up to skeeter but not at first, she knew she can get in to a lot of trouble just for socializing with a white woman. So in secret she told her story but the rest of the black community didn't want nothing to do with the project, then Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer) joined the collaboration and soon more women tired of the treatment they were getting, came together to tell their stories, and as it turn out they had a lot to say about what went on in the homes of their bosses. After their book was publish a unlikely friendship emerges from these three ladies, forcing this small town to face the facts that time were changing.

The Help is a beautifully writing, directed and casted movie. Directed by Tate Taylor who made a strong poignant film, that was at time hard to see without getting emotional. The blatant discrimination back in the 1960's was very difficult to watch, but to be able to tell the story as hard as it was back then, it will move you to tears, and laughter too. I predict that this film and some of it stars will have "OSCAR" nominations, as they deserve it so.

"A MUST SEE MOVIE FOR ALL AGES'

Attack The Block

Attack the Block is a about a gang of delinquent kids from a rough inner city project in south London, who after killing a small alien creature, is unaware that more are coming but the rest aren't as small as the one they killed. Now the kids are trying to stay alive and defend their turf against the savage alien creature, making there neighborhood a war zone.

Attack The Block has promising sci-fi action, the alien will surprise you. Attack the Block is like the little engine that could, if given a chance, so don't judge this book by it's cover cause it will surprise you.

I give this movie 3 1/2 Stars.

Super 8

In a small town in Ohio in 1979 during the summer, a group of friends are filming a Super-8 movie when a pick up truck drives into and derails a government train. Soon after, unusual disappearances, unexplained animal behavior and military units takes over this small town. As the truth reveal itself no one is prepare especially Joe Lamb (Joel Courtney), who with the help of his friends uncover the truth. And what the government is really trying to hide, from the unsuspecting citizens.

Super 8 was hyped up to be this summer mega movie with all the elements, but fell short. Super 8 is a regurgitation of Cloverfield, E.T with a little of Transformers. There's nothing unique or new about Super 8. I'm very disappointed when you have a Directed like J.J Abrams and Producer Steven Spielberg attach to a project like this one and it fall short to your expectation. But all is not lost because the little Super-8 film the kids were filming was really good and you get to see it at the end.

I give this movie 2 1/2 Stars.

Thor

The story of the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) a powerful but arrogant warrior about to be crown king when his reckless action reignite an ancient war with the dangerous frost giant. When the most dangerous villain of his world send it's darkest forces to kill Thor and retrieve his hammer from Earth Thor will learn what it takes to be a real hero.

Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh has taken the epic adventure of the Marvel comic and given it life. With exceptional 3D effect you almost can touch the studly man Chris Hemsworth. The action was excellent, storyline made sense, and the movie left you wanting more (I SEE A SEQUEL).

The Prince, Seal It With A Kiss!!

After 9 years of dating, Prince William and Kate Middleton are now legally married. The couple ceremony happen this morning at the Westminster Abbey. The ceremony was performed in full traditional way and Prince William followed the protocol of the events he did not look back at his bride until she stood next to him. Attending the wedding were the usual nobility, diplomats and celebrities, but Will and Kate also had invited a few very close friends from school, and Kate's hometown local neighbors who attend the wedding. With the crowds gathering days before the wedding everyone has waited with anticipation for Kate Middleton to show the dress to the world. Everyone including myself was waiting with baited breath to see the gown she choose and finally she step out in a Sarah Burton gown, looking like a Princess, the dress resembling that of Princess Grace Kelly with the lace covering her arms and neck, just beautifully. Kate walked down the aisle to meet her Prince. As I watch this historical moment, I became nostalgic to his mother wedding 30 years ago, when Princess Diana marriedPrince Charles, and I remember watched it when I was 11 years old. Diana would have been so proud of him today. Kate Middleton is a perfect match for William and the journey that they will be making together in eventually becoming " The King of England" . The crowd waiting and cheering for the arrival of the newly married couple heading to Buckingham Palace for the kiss that will be seen all over the world.

Prom

Every story is different but one thing is the same "Prom" and who is going to ask me out? For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it's a fight of wills with herself after she and Jesse Richter (Thomas McDonell) are discipline by principal Dunnan (Jere Burns) and they are stuck with prom duties. She started becoming attracted to his bad boy image, what will she do? Fellow seniors Mei Kwan (Yin Chang) and Tyler Barson (DeVaughn Nixon) have secrets can they stay that way? Meanwhile there others friends faces anticipation, insecurity, and how there life intersect, surrounding the high school events.

This movie is an ensemble cast, with great soundtrack that will make you nostalgic for your prom, but that about it. No music can save this sinking ship. So what can I say, I rather watch 1984 "footloose" prom, now that's a prom.

I give this movie 3 Stars.

Fast Five

After Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) broke out Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) from custody, they escaped the authorities by traveling to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Now Dom, Brian and the crew has to accomplish the heist of the century with everyone after them.

Fast Five is a fast-paced, action packed, sitting on the edge of your seat movie. The action sequence is extremely fresh and daring. You will not be bored "THIS I GUARANTEE".

Hanna

Hanna(Saoirse Ronan) is a 16 years old girl who has been living with her father Erik(Eric Bana) in the forest were he has been trained her. Erik was an ex-CIA agent and after the assassination of his girlfriend he disappear with baby Hanna to raise her and for her to become the perfect assassin, to track down Marissa(Cate Blanchett) the head of the CIA department and kill her. Knowing how ruthless Marissa is and knowing she will not stop until Erik is dead and Hanna too.

Hanna cinematicly is beautiful, but that's where the best of the movie goes, unfortunately this movie starts boring you half way through. The fight sequence are good but there not to many of them to keep you interested, causing the movie to drag-along. So this movie Hanna ends the same way it starts, running out of steam.

I give this movie 2 1/2 Stars.

Arthur

Arthur Bach(Russell Band) is an irresponsible, charming man who never grow-up. Arthur relied on two main things in his life to get by, his fortune and his lifelong nanny who is also his best friend Mrs. Hobson(Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Arthur spending everyday muddily through life without any direction, spending his mother Vivienne(Geraldine James) money without a care in the world, until Vivienne gave Arthur an ultimatum, to marry beautiful but unlovable, Susan(Jennifer Garner), an ambitious corporate exec at Arthur mother company or lose his billion dollar inheritance. It a deal that Arthur could have taking if not for a chance meeting with Naomi(Greta Gerwig) a New York City tour guide. Can he walk away from the money or give himself a chance for true love.

This is a new twist to a classic story Arthur, but is it better then the original. And the answer is no, though it not a bad remake, I feel that if it isn't broken don't fix it. Good try and this movie does have some funny and touching moments, so it not a complete waste of time. Arthur would be best enjoy at home from the redbox.

Kim Kardashian: Dreaming The Dream

Kim Kardashian, the reality star has a new dream, to become a recording artist and this is another accomplishment that Kim can officially can check off. Produced by The-Dream who has worked with famous artist like Beyonce, Rihanna and Usher, to mention a few in the music industry, as a producer/songwriter. This award winning producer has the ability and experience to spot talent and The-Dream saw something special in Kim.

After hearing just one of her single, Jam(Turn it Up)" I concluded that Kim has a really good voice, something that surprised me and no doubt the general public will be too. Unlike her frenemy Paris Hilton who can not sing, Kim truly does have a lovely voice. I do see a future for Kim in the music business if she stays in the company of the right producers and songwriters, just like Jennifer Lopez did with Diddy making her a billboard hit artist, so can Kim. So when this single come out, everyone will be shocked at her abilities, but never underestimate the power of Kim Kardashian.

A full review will be posted once the whole album is done.

Drive Angry

Milton(Nicolas Cage) has broken out of hell with one thought on his mind, revenge. Milton want to redeem his granddaughter, after his daughter is viciously murder by cult leader Jonah King(Billy Burke). He's joined by Piper(Amber Heard) a sexy young waitress who Milton helpe's after she walked in on her boyfriend with another woman. Now, the two of them are on the road in hot pursue of Jonah. But worse, an mysterious killer known only as "The Accountant"(William Fichtner) has been sent to earth by the "Devil" to collect Milton and bring him back. Milton must use his anger to push beyond all human limits to find Jonah and save his only connection to his daughter and stay ahead of the accountant.

This film is a cheap imitation of gridhouse but in 3D. Nicolas Cage performance is laughable and robotic, once being consider a good actor he has fallen far from his performance in "ConAir" and "National Treasure". The true standout of the film are; William Fichtner and Amber Heard. In the past William Fichtner has appear in supporting role character, this movie prove he can be leading man material, and as for Amber Heard she someone to watch out for she a star on the rise.

I give this movie 2 1/2 Stars.

John Smith(Alex Pettyfer) is an extraordinary teen with extraordinary powers. John has to mask his real identity and his past and keep himself on the move from the deadly enemy seeking to destroy him and the rest of his kind. The only person to protect him is his guardian Henri(Timothy Olyphant). Moving is always been a form of life for John and also which has kept him safe from the mogadorian hunter, who's been hunting and killing down in sequence the remaining 9 aliens. John is number four...

This Sci-Fi action thriller is directed by D.J.Caruso who best known for(Eagle Eye and Disturbia), and we can add another hit to his resume. I am number four will be a hit, with the action, storyline, characters, aliens, and the special effects this movie is unbelievable, leaving it open for a sequel, absolutely.

I give this movie 4 Stars.
